Hi, I’m Shiba 🤍

I can’t wait to meet you and welcome you into my space. I love what I do, and my focus is simple: smooth skin, no pain, no shaving or waxing, and no ingrown hairs - so you can feel confident and at ease in your own skin.

I wanted to create a better option for anyone who hasn’t been fully happy with laser results before, as well as those trying it for the first time and looking for an experience that feels calm, considered, and reassuring.

I’ve designed Skin by Shiba to be a space that feels warm, welcoming, and effortlessly relaxing - somewhere you can switch off, feel cared for, and leave confident in your skin.

Preparation is simple.
- Arrive with no makeup, deodorant, moisturiser, or products on the areas being treated
- Shave the treatment area 24 hours prior to your appointment
- Avoid active skincare ingredients (retinol, AHA/BHA, benzoyl peroxide) on the treatment area for at least 2 weeks before your appointment
This allows the laser to work safely and effectively on the hair follicle.
And yes — our laser is safe to use over fake tan, so you’re welcome to attend your appointment with tan on.

YES. One of the benefits of the Alma Soprano ICE Platinum and SHR technology is that it can safely treat a much wider range of skin tones, including fake-tanned skin.
We won’t be able to treat any areas that are sunburnt, peeling or irritated.
Pain is different for everyone, however most clients are surprised by how comfortable it is. Our machine gradually heats the treatment area while the integrated ICE cooling system keeps the skin cool.
In more sensitive areas like the Brazilian or upper lip, you may feel a gentle heat, not pain.
Unlike more traditional laser machines, treatments are designed to be as comfortable as they are effective.
That’s completely normal. Whether it’s your first time, you’re feeling a little anxious, or you’ve had laser before that didn’t meet your expectations, you’re not alone.
We offer complimentary consultations where we take the time to talk through your concerns, assess your skin and hair, and explain the process so you know exactly what to expect.
Most clients will need a course of approximately 8–12 treatments for the best reduction, although this varies depending on the hair type, hormones and individual hair growth cycle.
Laser is only effective on hairs that are in their active growth phase, which is why treatments need to be spaced over a series of appointments rather than completed all at once.
Once your initial course is complete, occasional maintenance treatments may be recommended
No! It is recommended to avoid laser hair removal during pregnancy or breastfeeding. Although there are no known risks, hormonal changes during this time can impact the effectiveness of the treatment.
Yes! Shave the treatment area 24–48 hours before your session.
Avoid waxing or plucking, as the laser targets the hair follicle.
Yes. The Alma Soprano ICE Platinum combines three laser wavelengths — 755nm, 810nm and 1064nm — allowing us to treat all skin tones (from Fitzpatrick I-IV) safely and effectively.
Your settings are individually selected based on your skin tone, treatment area and hair characteristics at every appointment.
For optimal results, treatment intervals should be 4-6 weeks apart
Absolutely! Laser hair removal can help reduce ingrown hairs by targeting and disabling the hair follicle, reducing the occurrence of ingrown hairs over time.
