How does laser hair removal work?


At Skin By Shiba, we use the Alma Soprano ICE Platinum, one of the world’s most advanced laser hair removal systems. This medical-grade, FDA and TGA approved laser combines three wavelengths: 755nm, 810nm, and 1064nm into a single applicator for precise targeting of all hair types and skin tones. And yes, we can laser on fake tanned skin and sun-exposed skin!

Using Super Hair Removal (SHR) technology, the laser gradually heats the dermis to effectively disable hair follicles while minimising discomfort. The integrated ICE™ cooling system keeps the skin continuously cool, ensuring a virtually painless experience.


Unlike traditional IPL treatments, which use broad-spectrum light, the Soprano ICE Platinum uses targeted wavelengths for deeper penetration, more effective hair removal, fewer sessions, and minimal side effects.
